If you love recycled wood projects and smart storage, this U-shaped wardrobe made from pallet crates is a simple, low-cost, and beautiful solution. Using 9 pallet crate boxes, you can create a modular wardrobe with shelves, storage space, and a unique design perfect for bedrooms, studios, or small apartments.

This project requires very little cutting, making it ideal for beginners.
🧰 Materials Needed
9 wooden pallet crate boxes (same size)
Wood stain, oil, or varnish (optional)
1 wooden or metal clothes rod
Wall plugs and screws for fixing to the wall
🛠 Tools
📐 Step 1 – Prepare the Crates
Sand all crates to remove splinters and rough edges. If you want a cleaner look, apply wood oil, stain, or varnish before assembly.

🧩 Step 2 – Create the U Shape Layout
Arrange the crates on the floor before fixing them:
Left column: 3 crates stacked vertically
Right column: 3 crates stacked vertically
Top bridge: 3 crates connecting the two columns
You now have a large U-shaped structure.
🔩 Step 3 – Fix the Crates Together
Screw the crates to each other from the inside:
Fix each vertical stack together
Then fix the top crates to connect both sides
Check alignment with a level
The structure becomes very rigid once assembled.

🧱 Step 4 – Fix the Wardrobe to the Wall (Important)
For safety, secure the wardrobe to the wall through the back slats of the crates using wall plugs and screws.
This prevents any risk of tipping.
👕 Step 5 – Install the Clothes Rod
Install a wooden or metal rod between the two columns, under the top crates.
You now have space to hang clothes, while the crates act as shelves for folded items, boxes, or shoes.
✨ Final Result
You get a modular, rustic, eco-friendly wardrobe with:
Hanging space
9 storage compartments
A strong visual design
100% recycled materials
Perfect for small spaces and DIY lovers.
