DIY Pallet Floating Shelf: Turn One Side of a Pallet Into Industrial Style
What if you could turn just one side of an old pallet into a beautiful floating shelf? ♻️🪵

A few years ago, I decided to give a discarded pallet a second life and created this DIY pallet floating shelf using reclaimed pallet wood and industrial metal pipes.
The best part? I only used one side of the pallet!
From Pallet to Floating Shelf
Instead of throwing the pallet away, I carefully selected one side and transformed it into the main structure of the shelf. The natural imperfections, marks and texture of the reclaimed wood give the finished piece a unique rustic character.

To add a stronger industrial look, I combined the pallet wood with black metal pipes and pipe fittings. The result is a practical industrial-style floating shelf that works beautifully in a living room, kitchen, workshop or hallway.

What Makes This DIY Project Special?
This project is a great example of upcycling pallet wood into useful furniture. You don't need an expensive piece of timber or complicated furniture-making techniques to create something impressive.
The combination of reclaimed wood + industrial pipes gives this pallet shelf a modern industrial appearance while keeping the authentic character of the original pallet.
Materials
1 reclaimed wooden pallet

Give Old Pallets a Second Life
Before throwing an old pallet away, think about what it could become. With a few basic tools, some creativity and a little work, pallet wood can be transformed into beautiful DIY furniture.
This floating shelf is a simple project, but it shows just how much potential there is in reclaimed materials.
